Why don’t you …

… try something new.

Introduction

“Why don’t you just switch off your television set and go out and do something less boring instead?” If your childhood television viewing wasn’t between 1973 and 1995, you are unlikely to be singing along to that. “Why Don’t You …?” was a children’s television series presented by children based in different parts of the UK, demonstrating ways to entertain yourself without, clue being in the name, resorting to watching TV. I loved it.

The ideas within this series of posts are intended to keep me occupied and provide me with subject matter to talk about in letters (yes, really, a coronavirus-positive being the rekindling of my love of writing, and receiving, letters) and on video chats with friends, filling the void where work and travel tales were my main source of conversation material. Of course, I also hope at least one of these posts will give someone else inspiration to try something new or revisit an old hobby.

The plan is for all activities to either be free or cost very little.
