Day 4. Writing chapter 3 of 40 Patches

In the six days since I last posted and wrote, while travelling to/from  Dubai, doing stenography work and feeling ludicrously tired (the post-flight day, yesterday), I have thought a lot about refining the framework for my book.  I am not convinced my kind of “thought a lot about” has been, or will prove to be, particularly productive as it was quite literally thinking about thinking about improving things.  Oh well.  I did watch four films (the plan of six went the way of my copious notes to improve how I go about writing each chapter – to fidgeting, to eavesdropping the arguing couple sitting next to me and spending a very long time going through all the films and making my playlist) and on the flight home, the cabin air gave me a headache and I felt far too sorry for myself to think productively, or even watch a third film.

So I find myself in the lunch time zone, 1.24pm, having failed to motivate myself to write the next chapter before lunch (no, no, no, I will not have a really late lunch in order to achieve that.  I’m hungry and tired and grumpy).  I have, however, done a few useful To Do List chores, had a walk, had coffee out, stopped at a bakery (lunch has been on my mind for quite a while), eaten a lot of cherries, some Rich Tea Fingers and had a few mugs of tea and glasses of water.  How hard can it really be to just get the **** on with it and write something?!

On a positive note, the last chapter I stenoed, chapter 2, was significantly more what I had in mind than my fairly awful chapter 1.  Here’s hoping chapter 3 is more along the chapter 2 lines.
