Yesterday went well. Not only did DPD manage to streamline two deliveries, due on different dates from different suppliers and deliver them the same day, our new printer works (the old printer was not very old. It only printed tester pages. It’s a small miracle I didn’t throw it out the window; a lesson in never buying a cheap printer as a result of wondering how on earth you can get so much more with one that costs over £100. But I digress) and only printed one test page before going on to print 12 double-sided pages with no fuss or nonsense. On the day I really needed to print them. It was joyous. Then it rained spectacularly and for hours, which was annoying as my friend Becky was on her way up from Birmingham. Then I got overwhelmed by my own productivity and exceeded my usual reality for brilliance. Then the sun burst forth and stayed that way until Becky arrived and we had a glorious two-and-a-quarter-hour walk up into the hills and trees, arriving home almost an hour after sunset. And because I wore my new hi-vis yellow, fluorescent bomber jacket and the vehicles that passed us saw me and consequently us from quite a distance away, I felt a heightened sense of importance and, er, fluorescence. So my takeaway from that is wear high-visability clothing at every opportunity.
Well that probably sums up the key moments from yesterday so I’ll just add some photos from our walk, including one Becky took of me seeing off a logging truck.
