Day 20. Writing chapter 22 of 40 Patches

(The post below is from Friday, 2nd August 2019. I have been having major website issues, ie it’s been down. This has been neither fun nor straightforward and, to put it lightly, it’s not fully fixed. It might now be ok on some levels but I’m about to migrate the site to a new hosting and with a .com so this could prove a challenge too much)

It’s surprising how easily I feel disconnected to any sense of flow by having not written for a week.  I have been away for work in Dubai.  As with most trips to Dubai, the highlight for me was the knowledge and comfort of air conditioning everywhere indoors, even if that artificial air feels as not-quite-right as I feel when I walk outside in 40+ centigrade heat with high humidity.

Today is 2nd August.  I have been both dreading and looking forward to August.  I will probably have no paid stenography work offered to me (unpaid holiday guilt on top of a lot of time off anyway) and I feel I should catch up on all the bigger chores I usually manage to defer and also I’ve set myself a target, which seems unattainable right now but which is realistic, of 15 chapters.

Deciding which patch/memory trigger to write about for chapter 22, I realise that, unlike the previous two decades, I have a sense of chronology and I don’t want to divert from that.  So I won’t.  But it means I may change some of my patches to incorporate small chunks that aren’t really covered with the patches I’ve chosen but which I think are significant to my life.  I sense an all new procrastination theme, one of re-considering what to write the next chapters about and in what order.

There is also the issue that my website is down …
